Tropical Storm Gordon
Tropical Storm Gordon was a minimal tropical storm in the eastern tropical Atlantic. Gordon was not in the most favorable environment. It dissipated into a trough not too far from where it formed days earlier.
Hurricane Francine
Hurricane Francine began its developmental journey in the Bay of Campeche in early September. By September 9th, it became a named storm. Francine made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 hurricane. Impacts were mild - mainly power outages and flooding.
Hurricane Ernesto
Hurricane Ernesto makes landfall on Bermuda as a Category 1 hurricane in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 17th, after weakening from a 100 mph Category 2 earlier in the day. Ernesto is the first hurricane to strike Bermuda since Paulette in 2020.
Hurricane Debby
After 3 weeks of calm in the Atlantic, Hurricane Debby develops and makes landfall on Florida’s Big Bend coast as a Category 1 hurricane. The location of landfall is very close to where Idalia made landfall almost 1 year ago
TROPICAL STORM CHRIS
Tropical Depression Three develops and becomes Tropical Storm Chris before quickly making landfall. Chris is one of the shortest-lived tropical storms on record. Impacts were minimal.
HURRICANE BERYL
Beryl explodes into a Category 5 hurricane in the Caribbean after making landfall in Carriacou, Grenada, as a powerful 150 mph Category 4 hurricane.
TROPICAL STORM ALBERTO
Tropical Storm Alberto, the first named tropical cyclone of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season, makes landfall in Mexico, near Tampico.
