Intercept Mission 8 - Idalia was a unique and small borderline Cat 3 hurricane that made landfall in Florida’s big bend region. Hurricane Journal intercepted the erratic hurricane in Perry, Florida.
Intercept Mission 7 - An unforgettable mission in North Port, Florida. Ian’s track and intensity were nearly identical to Charley (2004), but its size made the storm more deadly and the damage more widespread.
Intercept Mission 6 - One year after Category 4 Hurricane Laura struck Louisiana, the state is hit again with a storm of equal strength. Hurricane Journal intercepts Hurricane Ida in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Tropical Storm Gordon was a minimal tropical storm in the eastern tropical Atlantic. Gordon was not in the most favorable environment. It dissipated into a trough not too far from where it formed days earlier.
Hurricane Francine began its developmental journey in the Bay of Campeche in early September. By September 9th, it became a named storm. Francine made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 hurricane. Impacts were mild - mainly power outages and flooding.
Hurricane Ernesto makes landfall on Bermuda as a Category 1 hurricane in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 17th, after weakening from a 100 mph Category 2 earlier in the day. Ernesto is the first hurricane to strike Bermuda since Paulette in 2020.
After 3 weeks of calm in the Atlantic, Hurricane Debby develops and makes landfall on Florida’s Big Bend coast as a Category 1 hurricane. The location of landfall is very close to where Idalia made landfall almost 1 year ago
